We invite you to help us stop the plunder

and preserve the wonder

Wildlife crime and illegal trafficking are amongst the most urgent yet under-addressed threats to global biological abundance.

Poaching, smuggling and illicit trade networks are driving countless species toward extinction, disrupting ecosystems and fuelling organized crime. Despite the severe consequences, wildlife criminals often operate with near impunity - prosecution rates remain alarmingly low due to lack of specialized training, resources, and coordinated enforcement. Without targeted intervention, we risk losing irreplaceable species and further destabilizing vulnerable natural environments.

Zoonotic disease (those that pass from animals to humans) are among the greatest public health threats of out time. From Ebola and SARS to COVID-19, they have caused devastating loss of life, disrupted global economies, ad overwhelmed healthcare systems. These diseases don’t just emerge in isolation; they are fuelled by human activities such as illegal wildlife trade, deforestation, bushmeat consumption, and the increasing overlap of human and animal habitats. Each spill over event is a stark reminder that out health is inseparably linked to the health of animals and protecting wildlife is a critical investment in global health security and in safeguarding out future.

The Wildlife Forensic Foundation is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting ranger training through the Wildlife Forensic Academy in Cape Town, South Africa.

Your donation directly funds rangers to receive essential, hands-on training - equipping them with the skills needed to act as effective first responders at wildlife crime scenes. This includes proper evidence collection, maintaining chain of custody, and providing credible testimony in court to support successful prosecutions.

With adequate training for more rangers, prosecution rates for wildlife crimes will improve, and we believe the world will see a significant decrease in the number of wildlife crimes committed.
